SINGAPORE - Queenstown's new snazzy Build-To-Order (BTO) projects - SkyVille @ Dawson and SkyTerrace @ Dawson - are the face of new-generation public housing, with a focus on flexibility, greenery and good living.
Designed by award-winning architecture firms, both developments boast cool, modern features and their own unique identity.

SkyTerrace @ Dawson, for instance, takes the "housing-in-park concept' to a new level. The five-block estate features plenty of lush greenery and sky gardens replace the usual void decks.
Its buildings are made to look like a Tetris game, where L-shaped units fit snugly with rectangular ones in what is called a "paired unit".
There are are 65 of such paired units, with the rest of the development taken up by three- to five-room flats.

Over at SkyVille @ Dawson, the cubiod layout so commonly seen in standard HDB flats is eschewed for three different configurations to suit an owner's decor preferences.
Twelve "villages" spread out over three blocks each comprise a sky garden and are shared by 80 homes to encourage interaction between residents, while a roof garden on the 47th floor features a 400m jogging track and panoramic city views.

Art and heritage are also woven into the estate's overall design and can be seen in its

common areas.
