SINGAPORE - A new shuttle train service plying between Woodlands and JB Sentral will be launched on July 1, 2015, said Malaysian rail operator Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM).
Called the Shuttle Tebrau, the service will offer 14 trips daily - seven from JB Sentral Station and seven from Woodlands Station. The one-way fare from Woodlands will cost $5, while the return trip from JB Sentral will be priced at RM5 (S$1.79).
KTM said in a press release that the shuttle service will cater to commuters who travel daily across the border.
"It is also an effort to reduce the massive road congestion especially during the peak hours at the Johor Causeway," the operator said.
The shuttle service will start from JB Sentral Station at 5.30am with the last train at 10pm. From Woodlands Station, the service will starts at 6.30am and ends at 11pm.
